Communities have two weeks left to have their say on the proposed UK southern North Sea offshore wind farm, North Falls, which is holding its statutory consultation until 14 July 2023.
North Falls is a proposed extension to the existing 504MW Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm, comprising an offshore array area of 150 square kilometres off the East Anglia coast and a proposed onshore grid connection in Tendring, Essex.
Around 250 attended statutory events on the proposals for North Falls.
Following the project’s previous two consultations in October 2021 and October 2022, this current consultation presents progress to date and updated proposals, particularly around options for transmission infrastructure.
Five face-to-face events were held in Tendring, Essex, along with two webinars, which were designed to give communities and stakeholders the chance to find out about the project proposals and talk to members of the North Falls team.
The events in Frinton-on-Sea, Great Bromley, Tendring, Thorpe-le -Soken and Ardleigh, and the two webinars, were held in late May and early June.
For those in coa
stal regions potentially impacted by views of the wind farm, North Falls has also created a 3D interactive computer model with visualisations from 17 different coastal locations to be able to see how it could look.
North Falls Offshore Wind Farm is being developed by a 50/50 joint venture company owned equally by SSE Renewables and RWE
