The UK government has set an initial budget of £200m for Clean Industry Bonus payments offered to offshore wind farms clearing this year’s Allocation Round 8.
Industry players will be able to enter the scheme which applied to fixed bottom and floating wind developers for the first time in AR7 during an application window that runs from 13-21 May.
CIB assessment criteria which currently offers payments to developers who have pledged to increase the sustainability of local supply chains have been expanded to include a Fair Work Charter as part of the minimum standards this year.
A third-party administered collaborative skills investment fund will meanwhile be created ahead of an operational fund being established in 2027.
The CIB will be expanded to cover onshore wind from next year’s AR9 when payments of up to £25m per GW will be available.
