Deutsche Windtechnik has been awarded a contract for the maintenance and servicing of 40 Adwen AD5-116 turbines at the 200MW Trianel Offshore Wind Farm Borkum 1, located in the North Sea (pictured).
The agreement, signed with the wind farm operator Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum (TWB), spans a duration of 10 years, with an option to extend for an additional five years.
According to a statement from Deutsche Windtechnik, the scope of services includes comprehensive maintenance and upkeep – excluding major components – as well as a binding energy availability guarantee.
“We bring a deep understanding of wind turbines and years of experience with the Adwen AD5-116 to the table,” said Jens Landwehr, managing director of Deutsche Windtechnik offshore and consulting. “This is also a signal to the entire industry: Independent service providers are fully capable of delivering reliable service for large offshore projects over the long term.”
The contract was signed on 19 May 2025, with Deutsche Windtechnik set to commence operations at the wind farm on 18 December 2025.
