Bureau Veritas to provide EA3 inspection services

Bureau Veritas has been awarded a contract to provide integrated site services for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia 3 1400MW offshore wind farm project.

The multi-million-pound contract will see Bureau Veritas provide quality, fabrication management and inspection services, representing ScottishPower Renewables within a significant portion of the project supply chain.

Bureau Veritas will also be responsible for overseeing the quality control of the construction works as the project moves into the offshore installation phase.

East Anglia 3 is the second of ScottishPower Renewables’ offshore wind farm projects to be developed within the region and is located 69 km off the Suffolk coast.

It will cover an area of more than 305 sq km and will host 95 14.7MW wind turbines.

Darren Taylor, Sector Lead – Renewables at Bureau Veritas, said: “As an impartial partner, our focus will be on reducing overall project risk, ensuring quality and promoting best practice across the development of East Anglia THREE, and utilising our global team of experts.”

Bureau Veritas has a track record of more than 250GW in offshore and onshore wind and solar and supports major power companies globally.

Its shop inspection team can act as a second party for developers and OEMs, acting as a representative of its client, or as an accredited or voluntary third party offering its independent technical consultancy to make recommendations and issue statements regarding product
